The Assessing Emotions Scale (Schutte et al., Citation2009) was used to explore the relationship between self-reported EI and perceived self-efficacy in EPs completing critical incident work. The survey consisted of 33 items rated on a 5-point Likert-type scale, ranging from 1 = ‘strongly disagree’ to 5 = ‘strongly agree’.
