Academic Integration Measure 学术整合行为量表
量表简介:
Following Beattie and Thiele (2016), academic social capital—the behavioral component of academic integration—was assessed using six dichotomous variables indicating how often students engaged in discussions with professors and classmates, respectively, about course material and assignments, ideas from class, and future career plans. These six binary variables—three for interactions with professors, and three for interactions with classmates—were created using a similar threshold utilized in extant studies: Students were coded “1” if they reported that interactions occurred 1–2 times per semester or more; they were coded “0” if no such interaction occurred during the semester. using the original 4-point coding of each item (1 = never, 2 = 1–2 times per semester, 3 = 3–5 times per semester; and 4 = >5 times per semester).
The perceptual measure of academic integration was assessed using a slightly modified version of Berger and Milem's (1999) academic integration (AI) scale. The survey included five of the original ten items, each measured on a 5-point Likert-type scale (1 = strongly disagree and 5 = strongly agree), covering students' self-reported: satisfaction with intellectual development; satisfaction with academic experience; growth of personal interest in ideas and intellectual matters; the influence of the academic experience on intellectual growth; and the influence of relationships with other students on personal growth, values, and attitudes.
